PETALING JAYA: A husband and wife were acquitted by the Sessions Court here of charges of trafficking five Indian nationals for forced labour.
Sessions judge Hayatul Akmal Abdul Aziz ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against newspaper vendors S. Suguna, 37, and P. Ramasamy, 48.
In her grounds of judgment, Hayatul said she disputed the credibility of the key witnesses as they were full of contradictions.
She also said investigations into the case had been carried out improperly and were one-sided.
