Lorry Driver gets One Year Jail for Fictitious Land Deal |

SHAH ALAM: The Shah Alam Magistrates Court today sentenced a lorry driver to one year imprisonment for cheating a businessman of RM30,000 for a fictitious land transaction.
Magistrate Nurul Syahida Zainal ordered the sentence on Che Man Idris, 55, to take effect from the date of his arrest on Jan 4, after he pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 420 of the Penal Code. On Dec 22, 2011, Che Man cheated businessman Shaik Alaudeen Abdul Hamid, 56, into handing over a RM30,000 down payment for a non-existent plot of land, at Plaza Masalam, Persiaran Kayangan, Section 9 here at 9.30 am.
