Six Indonesian Pirates get longer Jail Term
JOHOR BARU: Six Indonesian men, who appealed against their sentence for robbing a cargo ship, had their jail term increased from 10 to 15 years and given an extra stroke of the rotan by the High Court.

Rudiarto, 39, Andagunawan, 27, Edi, 45, Saleh, 45, Kahiru Fahmi, 25 and Uji Rashid, 33, had earlier pleaded guilty to attempting to rob MT Sky Jupiter at around 12.49am in Pontian on Sept 19.

In his ruling, Justice Datuk Abdul Halim Aman said he accepted deputy public prosecutor Muhamad Iskandar Ahmad’s arguments that the men had threatened the country’s sovereignty by encroaching into the country’s waters to rob.
